Love the unlovable?!!!
Love the unlovable.
To give you a little background, this confessing brother claims that he is a Christian but lives a sinful life to the point that we are all affected by it, and he has been doing this for nearly a year now, and yes, in our own faces (though lately he has been trying his best to conceal his wicked works, but thank God because His light exposes ALL works of darkness). In return, the brothers respond to him awfully cold perhaps because of the fact that Christians do not delight in the works of evil.
He tried to quote Jesus, and from his own words, it appears that he is talking about Luke 6:27-35
“If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.
—Luke 6:27-35
Does it really imply that we love the unlovable? Somebody clearly misspelled or deliberately missed a word here. Personally, I believe that it doesn’t say so because what is said there is to love your enemies and clearly not the unlovable. Ok, that settled… love your enemies… ok, we are to love our enemies, Amen to that!… because love is from God and that God is our Father in Heaven. But our Lord Jesus didn’t say there that you love your enemies by letting them do what they want, give them the freedom to do evil or simply don’t care about what they do to you/us children of God. It appears that our Mr. Unlovable guy here defines love as we accepting who he is (ok fine!) and that we just allow him, or grant him access to do all the things he desire (uhuh… really?!!!) and all the evil with it (what the?!!!), then keep our eyes, ears and mouth shut while he lives up an evil life so that at the same time he still wins the brothers in the faith’s love and favor and that he will still be accepted as one of us… all because we should love the unlovable?!!!.... N O W A Y! (Seriously, I can’t believe this guy at all! He may need to tighten up his screws.)
Luke 6 has clearly been abused here by using it to gain undeserved love from the brethren, the true fellowship of believers. I always make it a point that so often, loving one another is being addressed to brothers in the faith and not to unbelievers. Our Lord Jesus had been very harsh to the people who abuse the scriptures to their own advantage. People who solicit for love, favor and consideration from the church use our Lord’s words in Luke 6 to gain what is not really for them.
Proverbs 17:9 hits this guy head-on.
Whoever covers an offense seeks love,
but he who repeats a matter separates close friends.
—Proverbs 17:9
I am looking for a good chance to tell this mr. unlovable guy nine words from my heart that I should have told him before,
“I WANT YOU OUT OF OUR CHURCH FOR GOOD!”
This time, I’m not giving him (this guy, mr unlovable) any chances because as it was in Martin Luther’s days, when he prayed to God with curses to his enemy/ies, I find it hard not to curse him specially in my thoughts that are oftentimes translated in some of my actions. We already gave him several chances and still, he mocks us on our own faces. God gave Nineveh a chance, and it was plainly said to them, that if they repent, God will spare them but if not, God will destroy them. God gave them a chance, yes… but I believe that if they didn’t heed God's warning during that time, they wouldn’t have another chance from God because what’s left for them is their ultimate destruction. Choose life, or choose death… but God was merciful enough to give them that chance… the chance to choose life over death, the chance to choose right over wrong.
I pray that God help us, and may we grasp victory soon against this enemy from the darkness.
In Christ Jesus’ victorious Name,
David
Post Scriptum
: It’s 1am now and as of this writing mr. unlovable hasn’t returned yet. He went off at around 11pm wearing his traditional black leather jacket, and is apparently dressed to party except for the sandals.

likes and dislikes in music - part 1
today, i wanted to discuss something that's always been part of my life, a great influence and motivator, a shape shifting mechanism that turns clueless individuals to somebody they aren't really are, something i love and hate, the thing they call music.
as i've wrote earlier, we would always have something to argue and dispute about. in this case, it should be our definition of music. in my classroom days back in the 90's we used to have music classes in schools, trying to teach what is widely accepted as music to children and adolescents of all kinds of species of the homo sapien genre. music, according to what has been taught to me at that time, is basically a sound or a collection of sounds that is pleasing to one's ear. with that said, i don't think i would have to explain further the source of dispute between punks and rnb-ers (hiphops?) for x number of years now. it all comes down to your own definition. the latter is the same reason why genres sprouted out like mushrooms in a cow's manure.
so what is my take on this? personally, i like music more inclined to the rock genre. why, that's my reason for trying to write this (writing?), to even clear myself from those people who say my music is more of noise to them. by the way, i would be writing about my hated forms of what people call as their music as well, that is one might call a contrast for added color on the subject. mind you, i really hate people who boasts about their accepted genre particularly people who thinks they are music lovers but know nothing about what they're singing and even worse, tries to insult or make fun of people listening to what they consider as noise. fools they are! they really annoy me alot. they make me PUKE!
so why the rock inclined type? i myself a musician, consider things that some lamers would have never guessed existed in the subject matter. first off, it's pleasing to my ear which satisfies the definition itself (atleast in my case personally) and generally, talent and skill in this genre is something that is rarely or even sometimes none-existent in the others. i'll try to talk about them one at a time. this mini series hopefully would spark up the blogger in me to find time and write things as how i did before.
TALENT AND SKILL
correct me if i am wrong but atleast in my case, i never heard of a rock solo artist. have you? it's common for us to hear 'rock band' but 'rock solo artist'? such term may even be alien to earth. for this type of music to be produced, one needs to have a guitar. there's more, i know but atleast, a guitar played by a skilled person, sometimes the singer himself or herself or at the very least, a member of the band if it is a rock band. question, can everybody sing? yes of course, but some may find it difficult but atleast they can open their mouths and say the words unless they are mute. i may sound bad or off-tune but even if i'm in tune or not, good or bad, am i not singing? in conclusion, we can all sing unless we choose not to but everybody can with the exception of the mutes. true? true enough. settled. now, can everybody play a guitar? certainly not. strumming the strings like a madman without skill cannot be considered as 'playing a guitar' but instead must be considered as destroying the guitar. it requires skill and talent to produce this music type.
i heard people say (sometimes to me) boybands, in contrast to rock bands are more talented and the fans, when they go live, afirms that. i wouldn't directly resent to them at such times, but in the back of my unemotional facade, i couldn't imagine where would this guys be wihout their looks. they aren't writng their songs in the first place. (i would be talking more about originality later) evenmore, they often don't now how to play an instrument, not even a triangle. there are tons of people out there that can sing better than this miserable lifeforms do. but... they dance. oh yeah, i can dance too. blagh! all these go the same for solo artists, particularly of this time. so what do these boybands and solo artists resent to when they're running out of new things to sell? the same thing that is mostly seen in the hiphop genre... what people sanitized and now we call as 'revivals'.
i'm running out of time here but let me just share a little experience i'd had back in the philippines while i was in a bus one time, somewhere in edsa mandaluyong. i was seated somewhere in the middle section of the bus and just behind me where two girls or women (i didn't mind looking back at them) who we're trying to talk each other out to kill time as traffic of all sorts engulfed the whole area. the bus was an old liner, though it was airconditioned, it was arguably old and at that time was tuned into one of the popular radio stations in the metro. trying to relax, i closed my eyes trying to take a nap to pass time when the radio started playing 214, sung not by the great rivermaya, but was sang (in my opinion trying very hard to surpass the original rendition which was really awful to my ears) by a mere luke mijares. the girls at the back halted as the sound filled the airspace up. they started chuckling to each other, saying "uy ang ganda! sino ba ang original nyan?" the other girl with all her heart proudly exclaimed "si luke mijares ang original nyan!" i could have died that very moment! maybe i survived the hell out of it to write something like this. the experience is just too annoying i couldn't write anymore.
to be continued...

thestrangeblog's back
it's been a cold day from morn til eve. i've spent my whole day sitting in front of my pc working on my layout. for those people who've seen the old 'thestrangeblog', you'll notice that somehow, it still resembles the original look. i simply improved it's layout. one thing i'm still working on is getting a tagboard fixed somewhere on the right panel. i had to skip doing my laundry co'z i'd miss my blog so much. in fact, i told our church elder that i wouldn't be goin to church co'z i had to do my laundry today. it turned out, i wasn't able to do anything else aside from fixing my good ol blogsite. Forgive me God for not being able to do what I told your servant what I should be doing.
yesterday, i was in Wafi City in Dubai for our company's annual get together lunch out. it was all fun. frankly, i didn't like the food so much but atleast, i was able to finally taste Corona Beer. not long after my second bottle, i was kind of tipsy and people started to laugh at things i do. but little did they know that i was partly acting it out. hehehe. it's better that way. i'd had all the excuse in the world to crack out jokes and to say things i wanted to say. hehehehe. just prayin that my bosses aren't fond of blogging so that they won't be reading all my posts here. hehe. peace out.
